Community Bingo – Official Rules

Organised by:
Kilconly Community Enterprise CLG
Registered Charity No. 20206965

Purpose

This community bingo is operated by a registered charity on a not-for-profit basis to raise funds for local community development and charitable initiatives.

All proceeds, after payment of prizes and reasonable operating costs, are applied exclusively for community purposes within the Kilconly area.

1. Eligibility

Participation is open to persons aged 18 years or over.

By obtaining bingo books or flyer pages, participants confirm that they meet this age requirement.

The organiser reserves the right to refuse participation where this condition is not met.

2. Nature of the Bingo

This is a weekly community bingo event organised for community fundraising purposes.

The bingo session is conducted live and may be broadcast online to allow participants to follow the bingo call remotely.

The bingo is operated for community purposes only and is not a commercial gambling service.

No private profit or personal gain is derived by directors, officers, employees, or volunteers.

3. Bingo Books and Pricing

Bingo tickets are referred to as bingo books.

Each bingo book contains 8 individual bingo games (pages) played sequentially during the event.

Typical pricing is as follows:

Single Book – €10 (8 games)
Double Book – €15 (two books played simultaneously)

Books must be obtained in advance of the bingo event and are valid only for that specific event.

4. Optional Additional Pages (“Flyers”)

Participants may be offered the option to obtain additional bingo pages known as flyers.

Flyers are typically priced at €2 per page.

Flyers apply only to specific jackpot games and are played at the same time as the corresponding game within the bingo book.

Obtaining flyers is entirely optional and is not required to participate in the main bingo games.

5. How the Bingo Operates

The bingo session is conducted during an open online meeting or broadcast.

Numbers are randomly generated and announced one at a time by a live bingo caller.

Participants mark their own bingo cards as numbers are called.

The bingo system records all valid bingo books and flyer pages in play and assists organisers in verifying potential winning cards.

When a valid winning pattern is identified and verified, the winner is announced during the live session.

Records of the numbers called and game results are retained for verification purposes.

6. Prize Structure – General

Multiple prizes are awarded across the 8 games played during the bingo session.

Most games include a full house prize of €1,000 where achieved within 45 calls.

Where the full house is not achieved within 45 calls, the game continues and a €200 full house prize is awarded.

Two games include enhanced jackpot prize structures as outlined below.

Jackpot prizes are not guaranteed to be won in any particular week and are subject to the specific winning conditions described.

7. Game 5 – Jackpot Rules

A €5,000 jackpot is awarded if a player completes a full house on a Game 5 flyer page within 45 calls or fewer.

Where a full house is achieved within the call limit on a standard bingo book page, the prize is €1,000.

If the jackpot is not won within 45 calls, the prize structure becomes:

• €500 for a full house on the flyer page
• €300 for a full house on the standard bingo book page

Only the first valid full house meeting the applicable conditions is eligible for the relevant prize, subject to the rules on simultaneous wins below.

8. Game 8 – Progressive Jackpot Rules

Game 8 operates as a progressive jackpot game.

Where a player completes a full house on a Game 8 flyer page within 45 calls or fewer, the jackpot prize is awarded.

Following a jackpot win, the prize resets to €2,000.

If the jackpot is not won within 45 calls:

• One additional call is added for the following week
• The jackpot prize increases by €100

This process continues weekly until the jackpot is won.

Where a full house is achieved within the call limit on a standard bingo book page, the prize is €1,000.

If the full house is not achieved within the call limit, the prize structure becomes:

• €500 for a full house on the flyer page
• €300 for a full house on the standard bingo book page

From time to time the organiser may also guarantee that a minimum €1,000 full house prize will be paid during the event if no €1,000 prize has been won earlier in the evening.

9. Multiple Winners on the Same Prize

Where two or more players complete a valid winning pattern on the same call for the same prize, that prize will be shared equally between all valid winners.

The total prize amount available for that game does not increase due to multiple winners.

Where a prize is shared, individual payouts may be rounded to the nearest euro.

For smaller prizes the organiser may apply a reasonable maximum individual payout where a very large number of simultaneous winners occur.

The organiser’s verification of valid simultaneous wins is final.

10. Attendance and Claiming Prizes

Attendance at the live bingo session is not required in order to win.

Where a player is not present during the live session:

• A list of winning tickets is published on the Kilconly Bingo website after the event
• Winning players may claim their prize by contacting the organiser

Players remain responsible for checking the published results and claiming any prize won.

All prizes are subject to verification.

11. Verification and Prize Payments

Winners may be required to verify their bingo book or flyer page before payment.

Prizes are paid promptly following verification.

The organiser reserves the right to withhold payment where there is reasonable cause to investigate a claim.

12. Technical Issues

In the event of a technical interruption or system issue, the organiser may pause, delay, or reschedule the bingo session where necessary to ensure fairness and integrity.

Any such action will be taken in good faith and communicated clearly to participants.

13. Responsible Participation

Participants are encouraged to take part responsibly.

This bingo is intended as a community fundraising activity, not a means of financial gain.

Participants should only obtain bingo books they can comfortably afford.

14. Advertising and Information

All promotional material is intended to be factual and community-focused.

No representations are made regarding guaranteed winnings or outcomes.

All prizes remain subject to these rules.

15. Amendments to Rules

The organiser reserves the right to amend these rules where required for operational or regulatory reasons.

Any material changes will be communicated prior to the relevant bingo event.

16. Regulatory Position

This community bingo is operated in accordance with Irish law, including the Gaming and Lotteries Act 1956 as currently in force.

The organiser monitors regulatory developments and will comply with licensing requirements introduced by the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland when applicable.

17. Acceptance of Rules

Participation in the bingo constitutes acceptance of these rules.
